We're Sick Like Animals

My summer so far... is going a teeny weeny bit okay. I can't do much of anything 'cause so I spend most of my time in my room doing things that I find to be pleasant, like... reading books :) but most of all, whipping my hair back and forth to the beat of the music I listen to.

I guess that you're guessing why I made this blog post. Like I've said, I whip my hair back and forth to music but this blog post is not about Willow Smith's song, Whip my Hair. It's actually about Neon Trees' amazing and awesome song, Animal.

I first heard of it from the Glee episode, Sexy. It was sung by the Dalton Academy Warblers and their rendition of the song was so... HUBABA (I can't find the words to express my awe). I immediately got addicted which explains to everybody else why 99.09% of the music I hear everyday has the lyrics, " Oh, oh, I want some more. What are you waiting fo-o-or? Take a bite of my heart tonight!"

After I heard the song on Glee I sort of wanted to see the original version but I couldn't do that until early summer vacation. When I heard, saw, and felt it, I was more addicted to the song than ever. It's a really up beat song and it's kind of fun to dance to (don't tell my mom I dance in my room *wink* and in the shower *wink wink* and in her room too *wink wink wink*)

Animal was their hit single that got spot #13 in the Billboard Hot 100 and the #1 spot on the Alternative Rock Chart.

It's also because of this song that I am now totally and absolutely addicted to the band Neon Trees and have come to love their other songs like 1983 and Sins of My Youth.

Since, in this blog post, I've included Glee's version of it and to also recognize the original version, I've included it, too.

Also, here are the lyrics to the song so you could sing to the song like I do. :)

Here we go again
I kinda wanna be more than friends
So take it easy on me
I'm afraid you're never satisfied.

Here we go again
We're sick like animals
We play pretend
You're just a cannibal

And I'm afraid I wont get out alive
No I won't sleep tonight

CHORUS:
Oh, oh
I want some more
Oh, oh
What are you waitin' for?
Take a bite of my heart tonight
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waitin' for?
What are you waitin' for?
Say goodbye to my heart tonight

Here we are again
I feel the chemicals kickin' in
It's gettin' heavier
I wanna run and hide
I wanna run and hide

I do it every time
You're killin' me now
And I won't be denied by you
The animal inside of you

CHORUS:
Oh, oh
I want some more
Oh, oh
What are you waitin' for?
Take a bite of my heart tonight.
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waitin' for?
What are you waitin' for?
Say goodbye to my heart tonight

Hush, hush
The world is quiet
Hush, hush
We both can't fight it
It's us that made this mess
Why can't you understand?
Whoa, I won't sleep tonight

I wont sleep tonight

Here we go again
Here we go again
Here we go again

CHORUS
Oh, oh
I want some more
Oh, oh
What are you waitin' for?
Take a bite of my heart tonight.
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waitin' for?
What are you waitin' for?
Say goodbye to my heart tonight.

Oh, oh
I want some more
Oh, oh
What are you waitin' for?
Take a bite of my heart tonight.
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waitin' for?
What are you waitin' for?
Say goodbye to my heart tonight.

Oh, oh
I want some more
Oh, oh
What are you waitin' for?
Take a bite of my heart tonight.
Oh oh
I want some more
Oh oh
What are you waitin' for?
What are you waitin' for?
Say goodbye to my heart tonight.

Aaaaand, because I like the acoustic version, I added it here too :)

What is it with Alcohol?

Really, what is it???

I'm so mad at some drunk person right now. I just hate it. So much. It takes away the whole purpose of that person being here right now. Or maybe... it IS that person's purpose.

I just don't know. I really hate having to see a person that's here for some important reason but instead plants a seed of anger into your brain that grows in a very VERY short period of time which would end up in letting you show others how mad you are with that person when you really don't mean to bring them in the mess. They get others into places in their minds that they don't want to be in AND they won't remember doing that, AT ALL.  They only wake up in the morning with a useless stupid hangover.

What I do understand is that they use up their money to buy all the trouble they'll be causing and to wake up with  a hangover. I also understand that it is fun to have a small drink once in a while (and by while, I mean a long time) but I don't understand why getting really drunk to the point of one being unaware that he is in an embarrassing situation very frequently is a good thing.

I just don't know why.

Hot And Cold

Going back to my 1st year high school memories, I stumbled on this video I once created and posted on Youtube. Yeah. I saw the number of views and whoa I got only 72 views and I posted it last December 2008. Poor me. :D

Buuuut I'm not gonna talk about my pity for that video. I'm gonna talk about why I made it.

I made it 'cause I wanted to entertain people but it's hard to entertain people if they don't even know that the video exists so here I am, embedding this video unto this post for all you, my beloved readers to view and I am hoping to entertain you all. :D

I really hope you'll enjoy it :D

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging

The teenage girl’s life is usually chasing boys and looking great and having BFF’s around to keep you company and sometimes about cats. Well, this is for most cases. One case like this is Georgia Nicolson, the protagonist of the movie, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging, where she takes on her teenage girl life with her friends to look good for this guy named Robbie. They do some crazy things to get his attention (and his brother’s attention too because one of Georgia’s friends likes Robbie’s brother, Tom). The movie end with a happy ending where Georgia gets Robbie to fall in love with the true her, the her that isn't pretending.

Here are some memorable scenes in this movie (in no particular order).

1.       One time Georgia and her friends were spying on Robbie and his girlfriend and then suddenly Robbie saw them so he approached them and wondered why they were behind a bush. He asked them why and Georgia thought of a stupid excuse and she said, “We’re looking for Ellen’s (Georgia’s Friend) earring.”  It’s stupid because Ellen had both earrings secured safely on her ears. Ellen’s reaction made me laugh a lot. The expression on her face was hilarious; she looked freaked out so she covered her ear so she could hide her earring.

2.       When Georgia pretended to have lost Angus(her cat) and asked help from Robbie they went to the beach where, Georgia says, Angus loves to go she and Robbie talked about air guitar faces and Robbie hops on one of the boats and shows to Georgia “a whole new level of uncool air guitar faces.” Georgia joins him and they make the most uncool air guitar faces I’ve seen.

3.       There was also the time when Georgia’s Parents found Angus inside the fridge so Georgia asked Libby (her sister) to stop putting Angus in the fridge which just makes Libby giggle(she seems so innocent yet twisted ).

4.       Another scene I liked was when Georgia accidentally shaved half of her eyebrow and hides it under her bangs. Her family soon discovers it during breakfast that day. Her father wonders why she can’t just enjoy her life and take the growing up one step at a time and sister just laughs at the sight of her half-eyebrowed sister.
5.       Libby, who looks adorable all the time, was dressed one time in a black cat costume and sitting opposite her on a small stool is poor little Angus dressed in a little bride’s gown while Libby (still looking adorable) sings a “Here comes the bride” tune. While Georgia sits her mom’s visitor she happens to pass by Libby and Angus and says to the visitor, “you’ll soon discover this is a mad house.”

This movie was great. I even liked the sound track and my favorite song was Ultraviolet by the Stiff Dylans. I also liked this movie because I sometimes see myself in Georgia.

So to end this blog post
I’d like to thank you the most
For reading my blogs
Like this one about cats and snogs
Although quite short
I hope you’d like the sort
Look forward to the rest
My post that might be the best

It's Summer!!! Let it Sink in!!!

It's seemed like yesterday I was anxious to pass my totally overdue assignment or my wrong answers to my quizzes. NOW, it's summer and I'm not that well adjusted to the circumstances of my body easily relaxing it's as if my body was only meant to be tense and my eyes giving me that "stressed" or "not-having-slept-for-ten-days" look :D. BUT it's summer and my body, my overly stressed abused body can now be at peace. I'm not talking about death here, I'm talking about how my body would feel during the whole summer. :D

I guess you're wondering what I could do now and what I couldn't do before. (or not) So I'll give you a list.

What I couldn't do before:

  • I couldn't register to a decent gym
  • I couldn't sleep that much early
  • I couldn't play that much video games
  • or even some sports
  • I couldn't clean my room that well
  • I couldn't watch the movies I really, really wanted to watch
  • I couldn't learn the guitar chords for the songs I wanted to sing
  • I couldn't find my pen
  • I couldn't edit my photos (via Photoshop) that much any more (unless they were for the website)
  • I couldn't get my sim in Sims 3 pregnant with her husband's baby (this is probably related to the video gaming thing but this bugs me more than the other games)
  • (I couldn't find a decent guy to date)

Okay so now here's what I can do now..... well it's basically the ones in the previous list instead I could do them and:

  • I could try to enhance my cooking skills
  • I could go to places other that those here in Baguio City
  • I could add my name and blog name to all the ends of my blog posts
  • I could easily be updated with all upcoming movies and series and you know, those box office stuff
  • I could earn more money
  • I could lose all the over-stored fat I have
  • I could dream for a better future
  • I could not worry about my grades ( not until I get my report card)
  • I could have a happy birthday
  • I could babysit my cute neighbor's cute baby cousin/brother (I'm not sure)
  • I could try eating in new places
  • I could take the dog for a walk
  • I could run from dogs chasing my dog that I'm taking for a walk
  • I could spy on my neighbor who seems to be dealing lollipops
  • I could try baking
  • I could do my Taebo (martial arts + boxing [really helps when you wanna lose some {or more} pounds])

Owyeah!!! I'm really starting to enjoy my summer :D I hope you enjoy yours too :D (if you're having it anyway)

I'm Baaaaack!!!

Okay here’s the thing… I disappeared from the blogging world ever since we started to create our official entry for this year’s Cyberfair competition. So now as you’re reading this blog post I hope you’re getting a clearer idea of why I suddenly stopped with my weekly posts (if ever you cared anyway), but, hey, now I'm back, alive and kicking (or in this case typing) for you’re reading pleasure :D

So I wanna share my ULTIMATE CYBERFAIR EXPERIENCE with you. It all started when our teacher, Mr. Vincent Tabor, asked us if we wanted to join (and we said we did). After that, we started to learn more about developing better websites. It seemed that what we were currently learning was inefficient so I had to do advanced learning on web development stuff like CSS.

Before we started to create our website, we had to gather data to put into our website. So first we headed to the Baguio Botanical Garden to take pictures and we got some pretty nice photos of the place (specially because the camera was an SLR camera). We even attempted to conduct an interview but that didn’t come out to be as successful as we planned because, unfortunately, the people we needed to interview were working in the City Hall, where they have their own office but don’t seem to want to stay in the place because, I’m sure, maybe of boredom??? This was the most unforgettable experience I had for the duration of our project making.

I really don’t understand why the government employees aren't in their offices (especially when you need them for a quick interview). The person we were trying to interview seemed to be busy all the time so we were passed on to a different person who we could interview instead; only problem is, this guy we were passed on to for interviewing was busy too. I hated that there was so many information we could get for this interview but we weren’t able to get it. Lucky for us, the Internet has information with regards to our topic but we’d really need to search harder than usual so we could find the right information and we did find it.

After gathering all the data, we were able to create our website structure. Then we continued studying CSS where we got a good grasp of the idea of CSS, designing the website. After designing our website, I thought, “it’s so plain!!!” So I forced myself to study Flash so I could add slideshows and photo galleries and, although it was hard and extremely complicated, I eventually got the hang of it.

If you add up all of what you’ve read, you’d get the finished product of our project, The Garden Up North (which, by the way, is our official Cyberfair entry). I won’t forget to mention that apart from finishing the cyberfair entry, I also learned so many things like remembering to save everything before turning off the computer (so as not to avoid having to repeat something because it was not saved, like what happened to me a lot), setting an appointment for an interview really, really early, asking for permission, bringing a tripod when shooting a video, bringing a microphone when shooting a video with my low class camera, looking at the camera lens when trying to say something to the audience, urinating before starting to work to avoid having to stop working just to pee, organizing files on a usb, remembering to change the RSL publish settings in Adobe flash so that it’s merged into the code, but the most important thing I’ve learned is that teamwork carries you a long way and in my case our teamwork got us to finishing an above average, very satisfactory, and excellent website, that is www.gardenupnorth.info.

A Nice Place (For Our Richer Bretheren)

Last January 27,2011 we had a toured the Baguio Country Club. All I can say about it is that it is very, very large. In it, there are many different areas. We saw its mini library and some of its halls.  We even got to see the best Japanese restaurant ever!

It’s called the Hamada and while there, the manager and a chef showed us around. Oh, and I forgot to mention the lady that was wearing a full Japanese costume (a kimono) and also showed us around. We even got a nice view of the beautiful pool (more on that later) and then the kind and humble chef demonstrated his skills in Japanese cooking (I think he cooks tapanyaki).

Here’s a video of him (there are parts where I was amazed by the beautiful pool and tried to go out through the window but I didn’t go on so I just fast forwarded to the part where the chef was having his exhibition [and slowed some  scenes to make it dramatic] :D peace)

Then we headed to the pool but before we got there, we passed by the gym (They call it the Fitness Center). It had a lot of fitness and exercise material (the stuff I don’t go near to unless I can’t do anything better) but I think we weren’t supposed to go in because it was for members only (this time, I wanted to touch the dumbbells but I wasn’t a member, awwwww).

When we got to the pool area, I really, badly, very much wanted to jump in to one of the pools (or the Jacuzzi) but I couldn’t because One) I was not a member of the Baguio Country club. Two) I had a camera on my hand so if I jumped in it might get busted and I might get electrocuted. Three) those were the only clothes I had at that time. So however badly I wanted to swim in the water, I couldn’t do it and all I could do was admire its beauty (and put my hand into the Jacuzzi’s water and feel the warm water :D)
Look at the warm water from the Jacuzzi

Then we got to this ballroom which we weren’t able to get into again but I saw the beautiful chandeliers and got a picture of them. We also saw the big glass doors at the other entrance (this saddened me a bit because we were at the other entrance and the door we had was made of wood [I don’t even think it’s real wood]).

There's my teacher at the side ;) He has a website you know.
Then when we passed through the parking lot, we got to a golf area where I wanted to play golf but couldn’t because I didn’t know how to and I had no money to pay for a golf club and a golf ball. The view from that golf area was nice.

Soon, we traveled to the multi-function hall that was once a tennis lawn according to the tour guide. I was huge! I think it could seat 500 guests or 1000 if you didn’t include the tables (for a show maybe).

Later we got back to where we started the business center. But when I thought we were done with the tour, we were taken to a place called Raisin Bread where they sell baked goods and I got to buy some raisin bread and cheese bread (both of them were delicious :D).

After all that bread we got into the elevator (which cannot hold too much people if I’m included with those people) and saw one of the rooms that the Country Club’s hotels could let the members stay in (with a fee). I think that the room we saw was a deluxe one it had three beds and one was a king size (I think). I learned that if the room was facing the golf course, it would cost more (jeezzzz for a greater view, it would cost more). I also learned that if you wanted to print something in the business center, you would have to pay 14Php, yeah. I think I’d rather buy more raisin bread from Raisin Bread (:D)

After that, the tour ended
I think of how we spent it
We really had a great time
We didn't even spend a dime

The place was really huge
At least no one there was a stooge
Or else we would have been sent away
I’d have wanted to stay

But the next time I’d go, I’d need much more money
It’s hard to earn money, it’s not a joke, it’s not funny
There are other ways to have fun too
Like a time I’ll spend with Ted [again, I’m supposed to say you but you’re not Ted sorry for the inconvenience]

Comin' Up: Gnomeo and Juliet

Here's a sneak peek for you and it's about the upcoming movie, Gnomeo and Juliet. There is a trailer at the end of this blog post!!!:D

I was particularly interested in this movie because it stars Emily Blunt, who is one of my favorite actresses (I first saw her in the movie, The Young Victoria which I found to be beautiful) and also because the movie's title is cute (Gnomeo is a cute name :D) and I think there's lots of love here (I'm a big fan of love stories).

The film also showcases the talents of:
  1. Jason Statham as the voice of Tybalt
  2.
  3. Emily Blunt as the voice of Juliet
  4.
  5. James McAvoy as the voice of Gnomeo
  6.
  7. Hulk Hogan as the voice of Terrafirmenator
  8.
  9. Ozzy Osbourne as the voice of Fawn
  10.
(these are only some of the stars of the movie)

This movie is about the obstacles that these two gnomes will face as their respective families are currently in a feud (hmm, isn't it just like the story of Romeo and Juliet?). The only difference this movie has with the very famous literary piece is that it is portrayed in a modern view and it is portrayed by Gnomes (also known as lawn gnomes :D).

Failure: Everyone Fails

I'd like to share a story with you.

It’s about a little pig named Aggie.

Aggie was said to be good at mud fights. She was chosen by the Farmer to join in the Mud Fight competition in their local area along with 2 other pigs, namely Bob and Dylan, who were good at mud fighting too. Aggie knew that the 2 best scorers of the team would advance to the next round. Aggie also knew that Bob and Dylan were way, way better than her at mud fighting so she decided to take for granted the practices they would have with the farmer.

When the competition day came, Aggie was nervous and when it was her turn to have a mud fight she did her best and applied what she trained for during practices ( wee, the ones she only went to anyway). Later on that day, the scores were announced. Bob got an 8 out of 10, Dylan got a 5 out of 10 and Aggie, who was so shocked to hear her score got a 1 out of 10. This brought great sadness to Aggie but she was happy for her team anyway because they would be advancing to the next round. Aggie thought at first that not advancing to the next round would be okay but she felt disappointed at herself and promised to herself that next year that if she would be given another chance and get picked again for the Mud Fight competition, she would train as hard as she could and do the best of what she can do to prove that she could get a higher score that a 1 out of 10.

Moral: Don't let a failure drag you down to your deepest pits of hell. Instead, let it be what drives you to do better the next time you have a chance.

Every single one of us has either experienced failing or never failed (actually these people who think they have never failed, ever in their life, just can't accept the fact that they did fail, the fact that they're human). Here’s a fact for you, if you are human, then you are imperfect.

Statement: Aggie is human, therefore, Aggie is imperfect.

No one can really be perfect, maybe just try or pretend to be perfect but not the actual thing. So since this is really clear to most of us, then it’s time to accept the fact that we make mistakes and eventually fail but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the whole wide world. It actually means that we’re just normal (which can be good sometimes) but if we just sit there and stare at the big failure we made, then were just totally nothing more than normal (which can be bad too). What makes us better than ‘normal’ is when we creep out from our shells, start working to attain success, and then eventually attaining it. What feeling is better anyway? Is it the feeling of guilt from our failures? Or is it the great happiness when we accomplish something?

If I were to choose, and because I am normal
I’d chose the happy part, not the one that’s dismal
I’ll wonder if you won’t

Giving up will wreck you, so don’t
Resisting to accept that you’ve failed gives nothing
Except for stress, so go start doing something

Some say, “if life gives you lemons, collect them,”
I say, “if life gives you lemons, don’t treat each as a gem

Instead, make lemonade to drink,”
Would you rather have rotten lemons, hmm, think.

Or would you prefer to have lemonade?
Knowing it’s yours, it’s what you made,
It’s the fruit of your effort
Don’t leave the lemons, don’t avert
It would just be such a waste to leave them to rot
They’ll just stink up the place, stinky is gross like snot
